Once you've reviewed that treatment plan, you'll speak to one of our client advocates and arrange a time to bring in your pet for surgery. Only certain days of the week are designated for surgery at our clinic, meaning that the entire medical team is there only to perform scheduled procedures. Your pet has their full time and attention.
Before the appointment, you will receive a copy of any pre-operative instructions. Usually, this will go over whether to give your pet their medication that morning and when to stop food and drink the night before. Your pet’s stomach needs to be empty before they have any anesthesia.
Please remember: No food after midnight the night prior, and no water after 6am.
If it feels like a lot to remember, know that you can call us anytime and we're happy to explain what you need to know.
